Life has offered a rare opportunity to roam a bit with my favorite person –who happens to be my husband of 35 years–along for the adventure. This is a journal of new horizons: people, places, experiences and–I profoundly hope–gems of wisdom encountered along the way.
I wrote the above paragraph in 2014, when David and I were about to embark on a thirteen-month adventure to France and beyond, and we loved every minute of it (well, maybe not flying economy). A year and a half after we got back to Colorado, he was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer. We had sixteen more tender months together, including one last month-long trip to France. Two days after Christmas 2017, God welcomed David home from his travels. It makes me even more grateful that we seized the days we had together.
My adventures are not over. There are still new people, places and experiences on my horizon. And many old favorites to revisit. Come along if you like.
Hi, Sunny! It appears you are still enjoying yourselves enormously. It’s fun to read your blog and see your beautiful photos!
Wishing you, David, and the family a Merry Christmas and wellness in the New Year. Please tell Helen that I think of her often. Seeing her photo made me realize she hasn’t changed in the 50+ years since she was last at Mom and Dad’s home in Franklin.
